How many files can I count at once?
Up to a few hundred files work fine in modern browsers. The tool processes them sequentially to avoid memory pressure. For thousands of files, run in smaller batches.
Why does one of my files show 'error'?
The file may be corrupted, password-protected with strong encryption that pdf-lib can't bypass, or not actually a PDF despite its extension. Open it in Acrobat or another reader to confirm. The other files in the batch are still counted correctly.
Is page count accurate for encrypted PDFs?
Yes — encrypted PDFs still expose their page count metadata. The tool can read the page count without decrypting the actual content. Only the page contents are protected by encryption, not the structural metadata.
